Finding Home by Toyeeba Finding Home by Toyeeba
At more than 1,400 miles long, Australia's Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef and the planet's biggest structure made by living organisms. In the northernmost section of the reef, which had been considered the most "pristine," some 67% of the coral died." -

"The World Resources Institute report, “Reefs at Risk Revisited,” suggests that by 2030, over 90 percent of coral reefs will be threatened. If action isn’t taken soon, nearly all reefs will be threatened by 2050." -

It's a painful truth for us all. The death of coral reefs will not only affecting the marine life, but us as well~ u_u

This artworks is just my imaginations about the kind of lives that Nemo and the other marine life have to face if the death of coral reef continuously happen. Humans, even though some might say it's naturally happens, we are still destroying their homes. T^T

I predict poster for the next movie will show a guy in the marina in Sydney at the edge of the dock on his hands and knees staring down into the water. It will be called "Finding Your Keys".

Wow. Beautiful, sad, and haunting all at once.

It kinda reminds me of the ending to the book version of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King where Frodo, Sam, Mary and Pippin return to The Shire after their long journey, only to find their home in ruins and it's inhabitants under the oppression of an evil hobbit (yeah, the ending in the book was a bit different than the movie version).

I don't care if Pixar isn't planning to make another FN sequel, this. Needs. To. Happen.

This is an idea Pixar could definitely run with. If the environmental theme is secondary to the story of the main characters trying to find a new home, kind of like what they did with WALL-E, it could work. And what else would make people care about this issue than Nemo being homeless?

I agree with Faisia! This is haunting! You draw lovely backgrounds! At first I thought that this was the original poster with a different caption XD! You did it so well! It's truly heartbreaking that we're losing the barrier reef : <
